Cathy Van Dyke

Cathy Van Dyke was born in Montana and grew up on two remote islands in the Pacific Ocean — a background that created a strong connection to nature and the environment. Fifty years ago she fell in love with Utah’s powerful landscapes — mountains, red rock deserts and the Great Salt Lake — she now makes her home in Park City.

In her 40-year career as a chemist and environmental engineer Cathy monitored air emissions, designed water and wastewater treatment systems and worked to re-design manufacturing processes to reduce the environmental impact of industries. She remains intrigued by the structure and management of organizations and working collaboratively to solve complex problems. These are the skills she brings to help Grow the Flow in the unprecedented challenge to restore the Great Salt Lake. It’s also a personal mission to ensure that her children and grandchildren can grow and thrive and enjoy the outdoors in Utah as she has.
