Youth Coalition Draws Impressive Crowd

We were so grateful to join the Youth Coalition for Great Salt Lake at their kickoff event last Thursday. Congregating in the Salt Lake County government building on November 2nd, these high schoolers left us feeling inspired, engaged, and hungry for more.

More than 80 students came to the event, bringing with them a fiery desire to learn, get involved, and create their own efforts to save the Great Salt Lake. In the coming weeks, students from Skyline, Waterford, Herriman, Copper Hills, Alta, Brighton, Salt Lake Center for Science Education, and more will be organizing high school chapters of Grow the Flow all across the Salt Lake Valley and Wasatch Front.

These students are going to make more than a splash. They are coming in waves. Think student assemblies, poster competitions, calls to legislators, video announcements, artistic expression, demonstrations, and multi-club partnerships.

This network of students, run by incredible youth leaders at each school, has the opportunity to work together across districts and age groups and use their unified voice to let leaders know: WE DEMAND CHANGE. Our team is stoked to support these youth-led initiatives, uplift their voices, and continue to watch this network of passionate students GROW!
