Origins Of Grow The Flow
Grow the Flow is an initiative of Conserve Utah Valley, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to conserving land and water, forever. Conserve Utah Valley has successfully helped protect Bridal Veil Falls, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, Slate Canyon, and Utah Lake.
In 2023, Grow the Flow recognized an immense need to unify siloed efforts to save Great Salt Lake and build bridges between geographically and ideologically diverse communities across the watershed. Under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Ben Abbott, Grow the Flow is harnessing the political and public will to restore Great Salt Lake by empowering citizens, identifying non-partisan solutions, and leading collaborative efforts with NGOs, the private sector, community members, institutions, and government leaders to get water to the Lake.
The Public Action Network
The Public Action network is a growing movement of community members willing to take a stand for Great Salt Lake. We are creating a collaborative conduit linking public will with communal action through a coordinated program of education, community organization, and cultivation of lake leaders throughout the watershed. PAN members are more than just names on a mailing list. Our team of organizers meets with interested individuals to help understand your role in the Lake’s revival and create individualized engagement plans to turn your passion into action! Regardless of your background, time, or resources, you can be a part of protecting Great Salt Lake’s future. Schedule a meeting with the Grow the Flow team and join the Public Action Network today.
The Water Policy Accelerator

By doing so, the Bridge can rapidly assess the watershed’s human and natural dimensions, enabling strategic restoration of the lake. The Bridge is developing grant proposals to secure state and federal funding for a major synthesis effort. As the Bridge answers Great Salt Lake’s hydrological, economic, cultural, and ecological unknowns, we can share these findings and aid in efforts to save saline lakes across the globe.
