One of the major initiatives of Grow the Flow is to organize a diverse network of individuals, businesses, cities, and other organizations to work on changing the political landscape by increasing the political payoffs of prioritizing water conservation and the political costs of denial and delay. The end goal of an action network of approximately 100,000 people. This is a monumental task, but we are confident that there are well over 100,000 people who are committed to saving the Great Salt Lake.

This group of community members will commit influential lawmakers to sponsor needed legislation in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 legislative sessions. Building on existing relationships with lobbyists and the public, we will sustain year-round personal support for each legislator from their constituents. This will require frequent emails, phone calls, and even in-person visits from community members to their elected officials and policymakers across the state. Because the Great Salt Lake is a statewide issue it will need statewide support to be saved.

Grow the Flow is committed to taking a diplomatic approach to relationships with policymakers. We believe that progress towards saving the lake can only made by building, not burning bridges. We expect members of the action network to similarly be professional and respectful in their communication with others about policies relating to bringing water to the Great Salt Lake.
